Frankinscence

Species: Boswellia Sacra

Alpha-pinene levels of up to 80% in our strain. Higher than all other species of Frankincense.

  • Providing a rich and lasting fragrance with signature notes that calm and invigorate.

Our Frankincense farming, harvesting and distilling activity takes place in Oman’s Dhofar Province.

  • Frankincense trade has ancient roots and a rich history that can be traced back to Dhofar.

  • There were three legendary ancient trade routes: the silk road, the spice route, and the incense trail.

  • The incense trail was the oldest of all three, which connected the Dhofar region of Oman to Gaza. All three routes converged at Petra and Palmyra.

  • The province of Dhofar covers approximately 100 thousand square kilometres of land. It borders Yemen to the west and Saudi Arabia to the north

The coastal part of Dhofar is parched with the heat of the sun, cooling winds from the Indian ocean, drizzling rain, cloud and fog.

  • The combination of arid climate and moisture captured in the air allow the Frankincense trees to thrive in the wild.

  • There is a unique microclimate that drapes the desert with a blanket of green and brings temperatures tumbling down. This provides the ideal “Khareef” monsoon for Frankincense trees to grow.
